My paintings highlight the challenges faced by the natural world. Derived from memory and imagination, there is a surreal, fantasy element to them that captures the essence of the image rather than being purely representational. Displayed in this series are works that approach the theme using non-traditional materials. Polyfilla and use of powder paint result in a delicate imagery with a textured finish. In contrast, oil on glass or recycled melamine results in vibrant, colourful scenes: striking, yet thought-provoking.
