A painting of a child’s play area, under construction, in the South of France. John has decided not to complete the painting as the play area is unfinished; only vertical wooden drift wood poles show what is being produced. There are hemispheres emerging from the ground giving the area a surreal effect. The colourful and confident brush strokes reflect the nature of the subject matter, with greens, reds and yellows.
